  Blood tests                              

If your doctor asks you to have a test they will give you a form which you take to one of these places:

  • Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup - Mon-Fri 0800-1645
  • Erith Hospital - by appointment only, Mon-Fri 0810-1245 - 01322 356167
  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich - Mon-Fri 0800-1730
  • Crayford Town Surgery, by appointment only, Mon-Fri 0845-1100 - 01322 621690

if you are asked to do a 'FASTING BLOOD TEST' this means you must  not have anything to eat or drink from 10pm the previous evening, but it is advised you drink plenty of water.

please note, children under 10 years of age cannot have their bloods taken without first booking an appointment on 0208 302 2678 ext 5657 (this is the paediatric phlebotomy Dept at Queen Mary's Hospital)

Patient are advised to contact the surgery to obtain their test results within 7 working days. Due to the busy phone system, we advise patients to try and call during the afternoon when the phones are less busy. A doctor will only contact you directly if they need to discuss the result with you or you  may be sent a letter to make a routine appointment.
